2010 Apple iPhone: 4G and 2GHz CPU, what would this achieve?

Following on from our earlier post which informed you about the development of ARM’s new dual-core Cortex-A9 designs, we would like to talk about some of the possibilities that these new chips can offer.

It could be fairly likely that the next version of the iPhone could feature these new chips, or even the upcoming Apple tablet for that fact. We know that these chips will be available before the end of this year, so it gives Apple plenty of time to start developing an iPhone or Tablet with the Cortex-A9 chips.

We wrote a story here about the iPhone 4g possibly having 1Ghz ARM chips, but the earlier news today confirms that the new chips will have a 2GHz CPU.

Let us know what you think about this subject, and what you think Apple could achieve with such power.
