Nokia N86 8MP Firmware Update: Adds Face Detection
By: Alan Ng | September 16, 2009 | 1 CommentGood news for Nokia N86 users now, as it has been confirmed that a firmware update is on the way soon. It will add various new features and additions, most notably Face Detection support for its 8 megapixel camera.
As reported from IntoMobile, the inclusion of Face Detection is actually quite significant, as it will be the first time this feature has appeared on any Nokia handset.
The feature works as you would expect – just activate your viewfinder and the camera will locate and focus on any faces that it picks up.
IntoMobile also state that the firmware update will improve overall photo quality, so it will be interesting to see if this is true or not.
We’ll let you know when the update goes live. If there are any N86 owners out there, let us know what you think of this.
