Modern Warfare 2 and PS3 hardware bundle

It has been reported that Sony are deciding over the prospect of releasing a Modern Warfare 2 PS3 bundle, to coincide with the release of the FPS sequel in November.

When speaking to MCV, the company had ‘nothing to say’ over questions relating to the MW2 bundle. The news follows continued rumors that Sony are planning to release a 250GB version of their new PS3 Slim, which currently only comes with a 120GB option.

Sony stated: “We’ve not made any announcements about bundle packs, but will let you know should that change”.

Its no doubt that a MW2 themed bundle will appeal to a lot of people out there, considering all the hype that has built up over the game. Seems like a no-brainer to us.

    But you have to wonder. Do Bundles Really Help Sell Consoles? Is it really worth it for Sony and M$? Special Manufactoring process and marking. All these things cost extra money on top of regular production of the console. I wonder if they every recoup any of that cost with these bundles.

    You may get a game at half price or something but truth is the following (specially for MW2). The majority of the people that are going to play MW2, already have a console. So why will they buy a console bundle?

    Now gaming bundle or somehting like is a much better deal and would sell more. Like COD4:MW & COD:MW2 for $70 (max). That would be a seller.

    My dad wants us to get a second console (slim) so i think this the PERFECT thing for us to get… hope its up for pre-order soon -.-

    Activision are assholes for expecting us to pay more =D

    i agree that the console bundle will not sell much but thats not the purpose of it. its just to make ps3 a little more popular and to be able to compete with xbox’s plans of releasing mw2 and a 250 gb console. 70 dollars max? cod4 would not sell for 10 dollars on top of mw2′s 60. but regardless, people will buy it and they will love it. Mumbles, out.
