LG have just announced that they will be teaming up with established mobile app providers Handango, to provide mobile phone content exclusively for the LG application store.
As reported from Information Week, the move is an attempt to compete with the likes of Apple, Google and and RIM. LG have stated that they are focusing on smartphones this year, as they want to overtake Samsung for the number two position as biggest handset maker.
LG also revealed that they plan to release at ‘least’ 13 Windows Mobile equipped phones by the end of next year. It seems likes a smart idea for LG to let a company like Handango handle the application side of things, while LG can focus on improving features on their handsets.
Full details on the partnership can be found over at Information Week. Let us know your thoughts.
