We reported in August that BMW were to show off its new roadster, the Coupe Concept at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show. The new vehicle is aimed squarely at the Mazda MX-5 roadster, which we all know is a great car. So does this Coupe Concept have what it takes to take on the best Roadster?
BMW have been increasing the Mini brand over the past few years, and the MINI Roadster Concept will be added to the lineup in 2011. Looking closely at the pictures that appear on Brisbane Times, you can clearly see that the new model has the Cooper S chrome grille and the front quarter panels from the Mini Cabriolet.
For those who wonder how you will be able to tell the difference from the new MINI Roadster Concept and the existing Cabriolet, instead of the roof folding on the rear of the car, the roof will now fold up just behind the headrests.
The new model now has a much more sportier design than the existing cabriolet; this is thanks to its lower and more steeply raked windscreen. The roof is operated manually, BMW say that this is to help reduce weight.
