
Global Internet Traffic Increases: Recession hasn’t slowed
By: Jamie Pert | September 15, 2009 | Leave a CommentThis past year has seen the biggest economic downturn ever, however that said it seems that Internet traffic has not suffered, in-fact over the last year the growth in Internet traffic between mid 2008 and mid 2009 was greater than the previous years (according to Telegeography).
Although this past year has seen a lot of companies and individuals struggle we have seen a huge growth in portable devices offering full Internet access, this must have had an impact on this recent growth.
Currently there is a bottleneck between Japan and Singapore which restricts communication between the two, to 650Gbps, originally expansion was set to take place in 2010 however this growth has pushed this date forward. For more details check out ComputerWorld.
