Facebook Lite: New Light version is Cleaner, Nicer, Faster
By: Alan Ng | September 12, 2009 | Leave a CommentWe reported to you at the start of August, telling you about the new, lighter version of Facebook that was in testing and due to be released soon. Well that time has now come – Facebook Lite is now available to a select group in the U.S and India.
As reported from TechCrunch, the release hasn’t been made public yet as the new version is still only available for testing purposes at the moment.
The new version of Facebook is said to be a lot more tidy and cleaner. By this we mean the first impressions of the new homepage is very good. No longer will you see your profile page clogged up with endless apps and ads, it just looks a great deal better than the original.
TC also point out that the light version is considerably faster than the standard version, a feature we’re looking to see for ourselves.
Originally intended to be available in countries where Facebook is ‘non-existant’, the creators may end up releasing this version to everyone, considering the amount of positive feedback they have received on it.
Are you one of the lucky ones who have managed to test out Facebook Lite? If so, let us know your impressions of it.
You can read a full review over at TechCrunch, as well as see a series of test images from the new version.
