A new article has recently showed up on Engadget which looks into the new Motorola CLIQ handset, the article includes full details on the handset, a gallery and also a ten minute video, this ten minute video can be seen below.
In total there are three galleries on Engadget, one of the galleries looks into the Motorola CLIQ hands-on impressions, another looks into a comparison between the Motorola CLIQ and the Apple iPhone and finally the other gallery shows hands-on photos of MOTOBLUR.
Design wise compared to Apple’s iPhone the handset is quite similar in size, however due to the slide-out QWERTY keyboard the CLIQ is much thicker, as for the interface and performance the CLIQ’s interface in my opinion looks quite cluttered and the software itself is quite sluggish (that said the software is not fully optimized).
As for functionality it seems that Motorola have really concentrated on combining Google’s Android OS with some really useful functionality, such as full integration of multiple email, social networking and text messaging services, the handset groups all of these in one interface to allow you to easily check your recent messages.
Another nice feature allows you to easily check Twitter, Facebook and MySpace etc, rather then log in to the independent services you can see all information on one news feed. Another nice touch allows you to simultaneously upload photos to all of your social networking sites and even simultaneously update your status for all of the services.
Whether this handset will put the iPhone under much pressure is pretty doubtful, however it is at least a step in the right direction for Motorola, check out Engadget for more details and be sure to check out the video below.
