Motorola Cliq (aka Clix): New Phone to battle iPhone
By: Jamie Pert | September 11, 2009 | 1 CommentWith all of the recent news regarding the Motorola Cliq handset many people are starting to wonder whether the Cliq will be a real competitor to the iPhone 3GS, the Cliq seems to have really concentrated on creating imaginative and functional software (check this post).
The Motorola Cliq offers some pretty impressive specifications, it has a 528Mhz Qualcomm processor, 256MB RAM, 512 MB ROM, you can also add storage up to 32GB via the microSD slot, the handset runs Android 1.5.
The Cliq has a 3.1 inch HVGA display which supports a resolution of 320 x 480, it has a 5 megapixel camera, a slide-out, Bluetooth 2.0, WiFi, GPS, an accelerometer, proximity sensor and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
The iPhone 3GS has a 600Mhz processor and 256 MB of RAM, it also has 3.5 inch display which supports a resolution of 320 x 480, it has a 3.1 megapixel camera, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, assisted GPS and obviously runs iPhone OS (3.1).
As you can see hardware wise the handsets are extremely similar, the key aspect in which Motorola will have to excel will be with its software, if they create a fast, stable, easy to use and functional environment it could stand a chance, for more details check out Guardian.co.uk’s article.
