Report on cell phone radiation levels

By: Alan Ng | September 10, 2009 | Leave a Comment

It has been reported that some cellphones emit more than three times the radiation of other cellphones, according to a recent study by the Environmental Working Group.

As reported from USAToday, the group recently released the list of more than 1,000 cellphones, based on their radiation rating. It’s no secret that radiation within cellphones was a growing problem, but this latest study is set to make users even more aware, particularly due to the cancer worries that cellphone radiation brings.

Back to the list though, and it was found that the Samsung Impression came out on top with the lowest amount of radiation with 0.35 watts per kilogram. The Apple iPhone was found somewhere in the middle with 1.19 W/kg.

According to the list, the T-Mobile MyTouch 3G, Motorola Moto VU204 and Kyocera Jax S1300, were found to contain the highest amounts of radiation, at 1.55 W/kg.
