Microsoft Windows Media Center Event: Live Blog Results

We have the results to give you now, from Microsoft’s Windows Media Center Event, direct from this year’s CEDIA 2009. Microsoft discussed key areas such as Windows 7, Digital Cable Evolution, their coverage at this years CEDIA event and the reveal of the Ultimate Install Contest Winner for this year.
Engadget live blogged the whole event, making sure that everyone was kept up to date with events as they happened. One of the big announcements was Switched Digital Video (SDV) support for Windows Media Center, which now meant that DRM will no longer lock down every single show.
Other notable announcements included the fact that OEM CableCARDs are no longer a requirement for Media center, while a certain Dustin Anderson of Odessa Texas was the winner of Microsoft’s Ultimate Install Contest.
