Microsoft rivals defending Linux with patents

It has been revealed that a group of Linux proponents are planning to purchase patents that were previously held by Microsoft, in an attempt to protect the open-source OS from patent litigation.

It’s no secret that Microsoft and Linux have been rivals for quite some time now, as Microsoft have stated a number of times that Linux violates more than 235 patents that Microsoft holds, a statement that Linux strongly deny.
