Analyst: Time right for cheaper Apple MacBook
By: Jamie Pert | September 9, 2009 | Leave a CommentFollowing all the talks of Apple discontinuing the iPod Classic and releasing new versions of their iPod’s one analyst predicts a completely different announcement from Apple, the analyst predicts that we may see a $700 MacBook.
The name of the analyst is Ezra Gottheil, she represents Technology Business Research and believes that “The rumors of a less expensive MacBook have real potential,” and also said “It could drive up Apple’s share further and quite possibly increase the margins on Macs, even at the very attractive price of $700.”
Personally I feel that a $700 MacBook would have great potential, as long as the reduced cost on hardware didn’t make the OS too slow and sluggish, by releasing a more affordable Mac Apple could potentially convert more and more users.
