Final Fantasy XIII: Release date and Price confirmed for PS3

Well we told you we would update you when we knew more, so here it is. Square-Enix have just announced the official Japanese release date for Final Fantasy XIII, as well as pricing details.
As reported from RPGSite, it turns out that the rumored December 17th date was indeed true after all. Square’s President Yōichi Wada has just confirmed over at the Final Fantasy XIII Premiere Party in Japan, that the game will cost around 8800 Yen or $100 USD.
We know that the game has been beefed up for some years now it seems, but is $100 really a fair price for gamers? We want your opinions on this one, as I’m not too convinced about the price tag.

That seems ridiculous to me. I love the Final Fantasy series and I understand how long of a game it is but c’mon. there is no way I’ll be paying that.
Outrageous. I don’t care if it’s the best damn game in the world, I’m not paying 40 dollars more.
