We told you that this was coming a few months ago, but now we are pleased to report that the Spotify app for iPhone has now been released. It will now mean that for a price, you’ll have instant access to millions of tracks, from the comfort of your pocket.
As reported from the BBC, Spotify is now available on Android handsets, as well as the iPhone. Users who pay £10 a month to subscribe to Spotify’s premium service, will have instant access to around 4 million tracks.
Even better though, you’ll be able to save around 3000 tracks of your choosing, which you’ll be able to play offline whenever you like. Even though the computer version of this app remains free (with ads), we think that this offline playlist feature is worth the £10 a month anyway.
It is now likely that Spotify will become a major rival to the iTunes store, due to its unlimited access to millions of songs.
Are you going to be paying £10 ($16) a month, for the Spotify app? Let us know your thoughts on it. There is a video on the BBC website in the link above.

It’s a killer app, easy to use and the ability to download offline playlists makes this the modern way of purchasing music. It’s also worth noting that the price when this is released in the US is likely to be $9.99 the current cost of a Spotify Premium subscription.
I wouldn’t have paid for the subscription previously to remove the adds or for the higher bit rate but now consider them a massive bonus. A few people have given the app negative feedback on the app store but I suggest they don’t fully understand the service.
