Facebook: 4 Changes Needed
By: Jamie Pert | September 7, 2009 | 1 CommentA new article has recently showed up on PCWorld looking at ways that Facebook can improve their service so that they do not risk going under in the future, the article is entirely based on one writers opinion and can be seen here.
The writer (Mike Elgan) looks at 4 main ways that Facebook can improve their service, he looks into application improvements for mobile phone applications and he also looks into ways that the website could be improved.
One feature that Mike would like to see is one-button friend adding, this feature would allow mobile phone users to add friends in a room full of people via Bluetooth, I do think that this feature would be useful however I do not think that this addition will greatly improve Facebook. This addition in my opinion would however lead to a lot of friend requests from people that you do not particularly know.
Other features that Mike talks about include using Facebook as an address book, improving the messaging system, leverage location data and cutting down on spam, I feel that some of these ideas are pretty good however I do not feel that any feature mentioned will really seriously change Facebook that greatly.
What do you think Facebook should do to improve its profitability and functionality?
