Dual Screen Eee Reader From ASUS

The last few years have seen Asus grow and grow in the consumer electronics market, it now seems that Asus are planning to release ebook readers. Jerry Shen who is the president of Asus recently announced that they plan to release an ebook reader before the end of the year, he also believes that Asus’s ebook readers will be cleverer and more versatile than its competitors.
Asus are expected to release at least one ebook reader which many believe will be called the Eee Reader, it is expected that Asus will attempt to undercut the prices set by their competitors, some people believe that they will be aiming for a retail price of £100, currently the cheapest competitor has a retail price of £189.
Other details are still scarce, however one of the major selling points is that it will have two screens (full color not monochrome), this will allow users to read a book in a similar way to reading a normal book, also this second page could be used for web browsing whilst taking a break from reading. Asus also mentioned the possibility that the device will have an integrated mic and webcam for use with such services as Skype etc.
I think Asus’s biggest challenge will be to keep the prices low, with all of the talked about functionality I don’t really see the £100 retail price being possible, however I could be wrong. For more details check out TimesOnline.
