Snow Leopard ships with vulnerable Flash version

According to security experts Apple have shipped their Snow Leopard OS with an out-of-date version of Adobe Flash Player, possibly the worst thing about this is that it silently downgrades your previous version of Adobe Flash Player if you had the up-to-date secure version of Flash prior to the upgrade.

The version that Snow Leopard install is version 10.0.23.1, however the current secure version of Flash Player for Mac is version 10.0.32.18, a security expert from Intego had this to say on the matter “It seems that Apple is shipping an outdated, even dangerous version of Flash Player,”.

In one of Adobe’s latest updates they fixed multiple security risks, to think that the latest version of Mac OS X does not patch these problems is a bit worrying. To find out more check out ComputerWorld’s fully detailed article.
