Verizon’s new LTE tech and 4G iPhones

You may have read our article back in July regarding a possible coming together between Verizon and Apple due to Verizon’s new LTE technology, this could be quite huge for AT&T as they have previously held exclusivity for the past three iPhones.

Verizon believe that they have a very food chance of holding exclusivity for the new 4G iPhone this is mainly due to the impact LTE will have on the mobile industry. LTE stands for Long Term Evolution and would basically “create full IP based mobile communications and full 4G wireless”.

Obviously with the faster is better mentality which applies to all things technical these days a 4G network will unlock more potential for handset, currently things like video streaming really push the boundaries for 3G, however 4G should be able to cope with the high bandwidth demands.

Personally given Apple’s history I feel that launching a 4G iPhone on Verizon is extremely likely, however if AT&T come up with a competitive network things could become interesting. Check out examiner.com for more details.

What a crock. This writer obviously is jumping on the rumor bandwagon just for the heck of it. Hey goofball, ATT is rolling out LTE also and consumer won’t see phone devices for it for at least 2 years. Data cards yes, phones no. There isn’t any agreed upon standard technology for voice over LTE. Go do some research before you publish a misleading article like this. Ridiculous!

Everything is mostly speculation till we get to see the technology in our hands. We’re all pretty sure that device will convert to LTE at some point but for AT&T it’s probably longer because in another article AT&T was planning on hspda before going to LTE. We’ve still got about 4 months till CES to see all the new shiny tech we’ll have next year. This is his opinion and you’ve got yours.
