According to a recent report on ComputerWorld it seems that when Microsoft release their Zune HD in two weeks they will drop all of their other Zune models, they will however offer all of the Zune versions until they run out.
The Zune HD will be released on September 15th and it seems that Microsoft will also launch updated Zune software and services, including a Zune video service on Xbox Live, an exact date for the Xbox Live Zune video service has not yet been announced.
The original Zune devices which were introduced almost three years ago have not really impacted the market that greatly, however there is high hope for the Zune HD and many believe it will be real competition for the iPod Touch.

Microsoft did an outstanding job with this media device. It is far sleeker than my iPod touch. Having used an ipod touch, the interface and the features on the Zune HD are far better. You get impressive features on the Zune. HD radio sounds great. OLED Screen is fantastic. The device is extremely light and very well built. Battery life is great as well. I have no complaints about this device. I purchased it with the dock, and man does the picture look great on my TV. The Zune outputs videos without any problems or hesitation. Truly a great device. I highly recommend and definitely recommend that you play around with it for yourself, because pictures truly don’t do it justice.
