Hotmail Problems: Reports of not working and service down

According to a report on Bollywood91 it seems that many Hotmail users are getting frustrated with service problems, these problems have caused some users to be locked out of their accounts for as long as four days.

According to the report MSN Hotmail now has over 40 million active members, however this popularity has caused problems for many free accounts, according to Laura Norman who is the Hotmail product manager the service has recently received a bandwidth upgrade upgrade, however this is said to not be the cause of the down-time and Hotmail are looking into the problem.

    I am in that category of not being able to access my hotmail account at the moment. it is most frustrating especially considering im waiting for emails from nvidia and ubisoft regarding issues im having.

    Last night I could not log in. This morning I can log in but I am not getting any incoming email. This sucks.

    same issues on the hotmail.com email while the hotmail.it is ok.

    Can’t access my account either.

    For the last couple of days I could not even log in.

    Now I can see my incoming mail, but I still can’t open it.

    A real pain in the a*se.

    I have not been able to even reach the hotmail site on my mobile phone; it gets stuck at “sending request”.

    Attempting to access my MSN hotmail with Outlook 2007.
    I was aware of the end of DAV Protocal and the need to download and install Outlook conector before 9-10-2009
    but still unable to send/recieve new mail after correctly
    peforming download and install of connector. I am able to
    access my mail with the web client but this is not what I
    am paying for. How about a statment to the users and what
    is being done !

    Can’t access my account since yesterday. I thought I was the only one, but apparently, it’s affecting over half a milion users!

    How come Microsoft hasn’t so much as made a statement??

    Millions as I have, have lost any old emails that were filed on the hotmail server. People are desperate. We all just saved so much information. Apparently, it was the lesser version that deleted all filed emails and attachements!

    I cannot log into hotmail from Outlook. I can get to Windows live mail using my same user name and password but Outlook can’t get in.

    I have not been able to send or receive emails for about 5 days. It is very frustrating. When will this problem be resolved?

    I’m in the UK. Hotmail was fine yesterday but haven’t been able to access it this morning. The error message I get is:

    An error occurred while processing your request.

    Typical Microsoft – keep everyone in the dark about problems with their software (and there are many) – that is one of the reasons I switched to Firefox!

    Shortly after starting a message “loading” shows and says at top of message it has been sent to drafts!!! Anyone else having this?

    I have one address that I can send messages to, but the recipient is not able to respond to my address. All her correspondence to me is via being forwarded by a third party.

    Is this her computer or mine? and what can we do about it.

    My hotmail was not available all-day yesterday!!! So, frustratiing…grrrrrrr!!
    and now even today trying to send an email I still get the service down…nothing wrong with your computer message! BLEK!! I hope they resolve this SOON!

    i have been out of service from hotmail for 5 days now. Always with the same error , system down for maintainance. This is the first time i have ever had a problem in 10 yrs. and i really wish they would figure it out.
