We have more news on the upcoming announcement of Sony’s push into 3D technology now, as it has been reported that Sony are going to extend the technology beyond television sets.
According to this article from EETimes, it has been revealed that the Blu-Ray Disc Association are also looking to use 3D technology in their disc format.
Even more interesting though, Sony are planning to extend their 3D technology into their Vaio Laptops, Blu-Ray disc players and also their Playstation 3 console.
EETimes also state that Sony have revealed that they will be using an “active shutter” technology, using electronic glasses containing tiny shutters, which will open and close rapidly in synch with the television image to create a 3D impression.
Looks like we are in for an exciting few years as we see how this new technology progresses. Let us know your thoughts about this.
