PS3 Firmware v3.0: Update live for download

Well its now September 1st and just as expected, Sony have released Firmware Update v.3.0 onto the Playstation 3. It is available to download right now and coincides with the release of the new PS3 Slim console.

New features include Dynamic Themes, ‘What’s New’ menu, Status Indicator, a revamped Friends list and more. There is also support for more avatars at last, a better trophy interface and a shortcut to the Playstation Store.

The update should be live in all regions, so hop onto your PS3 now and start downloading. The update only took us 5 minutes or so, so could be a fast one, depending on your network connection.
