Longer Battery Life?
For apple to not be such pricks and if there going to sell a phone thats worth a payment on my car to be up to date on the software, everything they are “putting out” everyone else has already got, its just not on an iPhone.
“everything they are “putting out” everyone else has already got, its just not on an iPhone”- thats an old lame argument. You realize how many phones DONT have or DONT do what the iphone does? Blackberry users used to point and laugh that the iphone didnt copy/paste. now it can copy/paste AND play games BB users wish they could play. Whats next? no MMS? ok, so MMS gets added and Bluetooth voice control..how many flip phones that have these features can tell you where the nearest starbucks is? NONE.
Let it go already. Apple will test and update and continue to do so and add features as they come.
Your argument over the price is irrelevant. Just because the phone is expensive doesn’t mean it will be updated everyday or that you’re entitled to updated because you paid X amount for it. There are computer programs that people pay 1000’s of dollars for that take up to a year to update.
Tethering
I’ve been doing tethering on my iphone since 3.0. Att claims they don’t offer it but there is a way to enable it on your phone. I may refuse to update to 3.1 as they my block it and find a way to charge.
3.1 is now around the corner and a day a week or a month is no big deal. As a developer, I have to subscribe to the old saying, “they’ll be no wine before it’s time”. Since the end of June, testing has taken place to ensure quality. The real question is does AT&T have their act together to allow millions iPhones to use MMS and possibly Tethering? Fingers crossed!

Apps to run in the background, better categorizing methods of icons, yes… BLUETOOTH file transfer, what about voip over 3G for skype etc.
Apple has already said they will not do voip over 3g due to contract limitations with AT&T because of network congestion.
Jason,
I believe ATT won’t allow Skype over their network since Skype is considered a competitor by ATT, therefore you can only use it over a wireless network.
I would like to see a couple apps be able to run in the background. I like to listen to Pandora and if someone texts me or I want to check my e-mail I should be able to continue to listen to my music
I would also love to see voice dialing through bluetooth, which I believe has been confirmed in the beta.
Lastly, be able to send and receieve MMS! Duh! So stupid, good job ATT.
What do people hate most about their iPhone in a recent survey? Majority said ATT haha! I think battery life with ~20% came in second.
TEXT RINGToNES!!!!
Seth says: “What do people hate most about their iPhone in a recent survey? Majority said ATT haha!”
YES YES YES I don’t think anything could be closer TO the truth…
I still don’t get how they can charge so much for unlimited texting and not include it in their overcharged data plan. How the *bleep* is text messaging different then sending data? Ah and yes you can’t download an app that is bigger than 10MB from the app store, um ok so I paid for unlimited data that I can’t download something bigger than 10MB err ok. I used to have a razr with AT&T that I would connect to my laptop via bluetooth and used WAY more data but they charged me less…
