Xbox 360 Price Cut coincides with PS3 Slim Release
By: Peter Chubb | August 26, 2009 | 4 CommentsTG Daily have learned from EEDAR analyst Jesse Divnich that Microsoft is all set to announce a price cut for the Xbox 360, this is perfect timing for the release of the Sony PS3 Slim. The new pricing is as follows, the Xbox 360 Elite will now be $299 and the Xbox 360 Pro will be reduced to $249. It is also reported that the latter model will be phased out over the next three months.
It is no secret that gamers have fallen out of favor with the Xbox 360 and the upcoming release of the PS3 Slim will not help its cause. Divnich noted that gamers would once again favor the Xbox 360 once Natal is released. We have to wonder if this could be too little too late.
Divnich has also been telling TG Daily that both the Xbox 360 and the Sony PlayStation 3 will threaten the motion control features of the Nintendo Wii. However, we do have to point out that the Wii still has two things going for it, which are its low price and a huge title of motion control games.
