PS3 sales to increase 40-60% say NPD
By: Jamie Pert | August 26, 2009
An article recently showed up on Engadget discussing how the PlayStation 3’s $100 price cut will affect sales figures; it seems that experts expect a sale boost of between 40% to 60%, this is according the NDP Group.
This 40% to 60% sales increase is not unique to Sony’s PlayStation 3 as this figure is what we tend to see when ever a console is reduced in price. The percentages are compared between the month prior to the price cut and the month after the price cut.
It will be interesting to see exactly how these increased sales will affect the current market, but with talks of an Xbox 360 price reduction it may not make a hugely significant difference. For full details check out Engadget’s article.
