Nintendo’s New Patent: Allows for Real-life Madden Play
By: Alan Ng | August 26, 2009 | 1 CommentThese wacky motion-controlling peripherals keep on coming don’t they folks. The latest news is that Nintendo has secured a patent for an upcoming American Football shaped gizmo, which will make use of the Wiimote and Nunchuk as well.
As reported from Eurogamer, the ‘soft’ controller will work by attaching a strap to your hand, firmly securing the ball in your hand. With the Wiimote placed it inside it, players will be able to perform a throwing motion, with the pitch angle and force of your throw determining how far the ball will travel.
By performing a jogging motion on the spot, players will be able to run, dodge and tackle too, its all very interesting stuff. It has also been reported that players will be able to attach the nunchuk to the new controller, for added sensitivity.
Combine this with the new MotionPlus accessory and we think Nintendo might be on to a winner here. Let us know your thoughts on the idea.
