Modern Warfare 2: Infinity Ward splatter blood onto screens

We have a video for you to check out now, which shows Infinity Ward’s decision to introduce more blood onto your screen whenever you take damage. On Call of Duty 4, players were just greeted to a glowing red screen, but now blood will splatter on your screen in the sequel, a feature I’m sure many of you will welcome.

Head over to PlaystationLifestyle to check out the video showing the new damage effects. The footage was taken at this year’s GamesCom event in Germany and gives you nearly 5 minutes of solid gameplay action.

While the damage effects are a step up from the original, they still could be improved more we reckon. Let’s hope Infinity Ward can build on it further by the time the game is released in November.

Watch the video and let us know your thoughts on the new damage effects.

The blood spatter is a gimmick. The screen is already defocused, turning red, shaking aim. The blood splatter is not needed. The effect is frustrating, not challenging.
