Volkswagen and Audi Recall Due to Transmission problems
By: Peter Chubb | August 21, 2009 | 1 CommentThe American arm of Volkswagen along with Audi has issued a recall of 15,000 vehicles. VW are recalling 13,500 vehicles due to transmissions problems and Audi are recalling 2,500 vehicles due to warning lap problems as well as a transmission glitch.
All the vehicles involved in the recall are those build between September 2008 and August 2009. The VW vehicles affected include 2009 models along with a select number of 2010 Jetta, Jetta SportsWagen, Eos and GTI models. The Audi vehicles affected by the recall are for 2009 MY A3, TT, and TT Roadster all of which come with the S tronic transmissions.
The Boston Globe reports that Volkswagen have said that its issue is with a faulty temperature sensor in the transmission, this in turn could result in the warning light coming on. There is even the possibility that the transmission could go into neutral. Audi have also reported the same sort of problem.
