Apple’s Hard Drive Firmware Update 2.0 For MacBook Pro
By: Jamie Pert | August 20, 2009 | Leave a CommentYou may have read our previous posts regarding Apple’s MacBook Pro’s with noisy hard disk drives, well last week Apple finally acknowledged that there was a problem and said that they were working on a fix, well now the fix has been released by Apple.
The fix was released yesterday and is called Hard Drive Firmware Update 2.0, this firmware fix fixes 7200rpm hard drives which sometimes beep and cause brief system freezes. The drives in question were shipped with MacBook Pro’s in June.
It is unclear exactly what was causing the problem, and exactly how Apple resolved it, however at least they have now fixed the issue. For more information check out MacRumors.
