New PS3 Slim Model: Love or hate the design?

We have now had a day to take in the new Sony PS3 Slim and it has been the topic of many discussions in my home. When I was talking to a friend of mine, he said that the new design was ugly and I have to agree. I asked my cousin what he thought; he said that thought it looked nice.

My cousin did say that he thought the PS3 Slim was going to be thinner, which I also agreed on. From all the people that I have asked, it is only mu cousin who likes the design but he has some strange taste, he thought the Chrysler 300C was a nice looking car.

According to 1up.com, the new slimmer PlayStation 3 is not as light as they thought it would be. The new matte finish seems to have gone down well with gamers, as it will not leave any annoying finger print smudges. There is however still a glossy finish on the side panels.

It seems in an effort to cut costs; Sony has sacked their usual design team and got those holding the checkbook to design it instead.
