GamesCom 2009: Yoga for Wii

With all of the success of fitness games for the Nintendo Wii and also the ever growing popularity of Yoga, I suppose it was only a matter of time until we saw a dedicated game for Yoga appear on Nintendo Wii. Well recently game developer JoWood announced Yoga for Wii at GamesCom.

During the press release at GamesCom JoWood’s Maerkweting Manager Markus Reutner said “Yoga for Wii targets Yoga practitioners and those following a healthy lifestyle as well as Wii owners. The fact that Wii system is available in millions of households sets up a great base to build on”… “Besides Austria, Germany and Switzerland, Italy, Spain, France, UK and North America are the target markets”.

Yoga for Wii will integrate the use the Balance Board and the Wii-Mote, to see how the controllers and sensors will be used check out the Official Website here.

I feel the fact that Yoga for Wii will be aimed at Yoga experienced practitioners will be its biggest challenge, if they meet this challenge I’m sure it will promote Yoga even further, to different age groups and a completely different target audience. Check out CinemaBlend for more details.
