First Look of Napoleon Total War: GamesCom 2009

If you enjoyed strategy game Empire: Total War, you might want to take a first look at the sequel Napoleon Total War. The game was shown off at this year’s GamesCom event and is being developed once again by The Creative Assembly.

The game is due for release in February next year, with Sega once again assuming publishing duties. Napolean: Total War will be set towards the end of the 18th Century, and players will have the chance to explore the events of that period, all building up to a showdown at the Battle of Waterloo.

The game will use the same engine that featured in Empire:Total War, but will also come with improvements to the engine and framework. As with the previous game, Napoleon will feature a mix of turn-based and real-time strategy and will contain around 322 new units to command.

Depending on your system specs, a maximum of 10,000 men can appear on your screen at once, with over 64 different face models.

Head over to IGN for the full preview from GamesCom. You’ll also be able to view some high quality images too.
