Dell Inspiron 11z Laptop: Price, Specs, and Released
By: Jamie Pert | August 19, 2009 | 1 CommentYou may have read our post roughly a week ago regarding Dell ditching its Mini 12 laptop, at the time Dell said that the reason behind this is apparently netbook owners want 10 inch displays. Well at the time that reason seemed legitimate enough, however now Dell have released a new 11.6 inch model, which somewhat contradicts their earlier statements regarding the Mini 12.
The new netbook is called the Dell Inspiron 11z and has a reasonable hardware specification, it has a 1.2GHz Intel Celeron processor, 2GB DDR2 RAM, 250GB SATA hard disk drive, and a 1,366 x 768 LED-backlit display.
Other hardware includes a 3 cell battery, three USB ports, built in WiFi and GS35 integrated graphics with HDMI output. To see full details on the hardware check out Dell’s website, you can also see a few photos on Engadget’s article.
There is also one major pro with the netbook, and also one major con, the pro being that it is extremely small and light, weighing in at three-pounds (according to Engadget’s article) and also it is just 1 inch thick. The con with the netbook is that it runs Windows Vista SP1, in my experience Celeron processors never run Vista greatly, let alone a 1.2GHz chip. This netbook does however come with a Windows 7 upgrade coupon.
