By: Peter Chubb | August 18, 2009 | Leave a CommentAs we know, Verizon Wireless is gearing up towards its launch of its very own app store. The cell phone network provider has recently announced its “Apply Your Ideas” contest for app developers. The contest began on August 14, developers can submit their applications in a choice of five categories, these include Connect, Enhance Living, Entertain, Guide and Save Time.
There is just one requirement of this contest, applications that have been submitted have to be new to the BlackBerry platform; they will also have to work on the BlackBerry Storm. The member of the VDC (Verizon Developer Community) will then have the job of choosing the winners from each category, along with the People’s Choice winner.
IntoMobile reports that the winners will take home $50,000 and 200% of the apps revenue for a whole year. Submissions for this contest ends on September 20, users get to vote for their winners on September 24 to 28. The Semi-finalists are then announced on October 6, with the winners being announced on October 30.
