Sony PS3 price cut, Xbox 360 price increase
By: Alan Ng | August 18, 2009 | 1 CommentAs we countdown towards GamesCom 2009 which starts later on today, we have heard even more details of price cuts to existing Sony PS3 SKU’s, as well as a price increase (yes, increase) to the Xbox 360 Arcade bundle.
Over at Engadget, they have posted an image which shows the 80GB and 160GB PS3 systems discounted by $100 each. Thinking back to previous months when a ‘lot’ of fuss was made about incoming price cuts, it seems as if Sony are dropping all their bombs at once this week.
On a side note, Pocket-Lint reports that Microsoft have decided to up the price of their Arcade Xbox 360 bundle from £129 to £159 ($260). On top of that, the 5 bundled XBLA games that came with the package, will no longer be available.
Rather strange from Microsoft, don’t you think? Theres obviously a good reason behind this though, so maybe they are preparing something special, just like Sony and their PS3 Slim.
