PS3 Slim and claims of Sony falling short

We have a detailed article for you to read now, courtesy of Cnet, which debates the whole authenticity of the Sony PS3 Slim. They wonder what all the fuss is all about, considering that the console has yet to be officially announced by Sony, although it is likely that it will be at GamesCom 2009.

One of the main questions they ask is ‘ Why are so many people so excited about this unseen console?’ Well, they are making a big point about the fact that the PS3 Slim is still unannounced and may even stay that way.

While this may turn out to be true, it is highly unlikely. Lets take the PSP Go for prime example. Everyone knows that Sony cannot keep a secret for too long and the PSP Go followed the same pattern that the PS3 Slim has followed throughout the last few months. For a good period, all we heard about was the PSP Go, leaked photos, mock up images, even leaked Qore videos. And then what happened? The PSP Go was unveiled at E3.

Now we have had the same stories on the PS3 Slim, mock up photos, the lot. For this reason, I predict that the PS3 Slim is indeed a reality and will be showcased later on this afternoon at GamesCom.

I wouldn’t really give a rats ass what CNET has to say. I mean…the conference is today, so all will be presented. And, you know, given how long their keynote at E3 was, think about exactly how much there is to hear about today, given Sony’s reserved 3 hours for their speech today. That says some big things are coming. PS3 Slim, GT5, Possible Backwards Compatibility Update, not to mention a slew of exclusive titles.

Sony released those photos from the chinese factory themselves. It was a test on the public to see if they like the new design which it seems no one has anything bad to say about it so its all clear for the slim to arrive.
