New Microsoft HD Webcam: LifeCam Cinema
By: Jamie Pert | August 18, 2009 | 1 CommentMicrosoft have recently unveiled their newest webcam, it is the LifeCam Cinema HD webcam and as you probably guessed by the name it records HD video. The webcam should be available from September 9th and should retail at around $80, which seems pretty reasonable.
The LifeCam Cinema HD records video at a resolution of 1,280 x 720 (720p) and records this video at 30 frames per second, however to record at the 720p resolution you need a dual core processor. The minimum requirement for the HD capture is a 1.6GHz processor, however a 3Ghz processor is recommended, the device connects via USB 2.0.
Other features the camera includes are autofocus, 4x digital zoom, noise-canceling mic and a technology called ClearFrame which is supposed to help you record clearer video. Another thing that this webcam boasts which many of its competitors lack is Windows 7 compatibility out of the box. To see more details check out Engadget.
