GamesCom 2009: Playstation Network down today for ‘maintenance’

Sony America has revealed that the Playstation Network will be down today for a whole two hours, meaning that you’ll be unable to access the service at all. It is thought that the company are linking the downtime to today’s GamesCom press conference.

The PSN will be down today at 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM PST, which is 5.00 PM - 7.00 PM UK time. Considering that Sony’s GamesCom presser kicks off at 8.30 AM PST (5.30pm UK time), its more than likely that they will be using the full power of the PSN to showcase their various new features and additions.

Exciting times if you’re a PS3 owner. Theres no way we’ll be playing during that time anyway, we would miss out on all the big announcements, which would be rather silly.
