Nvidia’s Tegra chip coming to more mobile devices
By: Jamie Pert | August 17, 2009 | Leave a CommentNvidia’s Tegra chips are famously known for the fact they will be powering Microsoft’s Zune HD when it is released later this year, but it seems the popularity of the chips is growing and growing, this is mainly due to the fact they have the processing ability to play 720p HD video.
The Tegra is stated to be used within a lot of upcoming portable devices such as smartbooks and smartphones, however at the moment clock speeds aren’t quite adequate for a decent standard smartbook, but they are not far of.
The potential of these Tegra chips is very high and some believe that next year we could see full 1080p HD video playback from a Tegra chip, whether this actually happens is another matter.
