The highly anticipated Dell smartphone has recently showed its face in China, The handset is called the Dell Mini 3i and to be honest doesn’t look very revolutionary, however considering this is Dell’s first handset I would imagine their priorities are to get a stable software and hardware operating environment.
The handset runs an Android-based OS and hardware consists of a 3.5 inch touchscreen display which has 360 x 640 pixels, a 3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, microSD slot and 950mHh battery, other details have not yet been made clear. A few things the phone doesn’t have is WiFi connectivity and is also not 3G.
To be honest if this handset is aiming to be an alternative to the Palm Pre and the iPhone it fall short, however if it aims to be a mid-market handset it may do quite well, if it is not over-priced.
The handset still has no official release date, nor have we heard a price, when we find out more we will keep you updated. For further details check out Engadget, there are a few photos of the handset there to.
