You may have read my post towards the end of last week regarding General Motors new electric car the Chevy Volt, the new eco friendly car is rumored to be the first mass produced triple figure mpg car on the market and will hopefully be launching late in 2010. General Motors are now revealing details on where they plan to produce the Lithium-ion batteries.
GM recently announced that they are going to invest $43 million on a factory in Browntown Michigan, part of this $43 million will be used to lease and renovate a factory. The purpose of this factory is to produce the batteries that the Volt and other GM vehicles in the future may use.
Apparently these plans have already been put into action and equipment is already being installed at the factory, if all goes to plan they should meet there final quarter of 2010 launch of the Chevy Volt.
