New PS3 September 2009: New SKU or Slim?

Adding to the PS3 Slim rumor train is this photo that shows a sale sign, which states “New PS3 September 2009” and that a $50 deposit will be required. You can see the full size image on community.eu.playstation.com.

Is this a new SKU or PS3 Slim? Many gamers believe something will be announced at GamesCom 2009, which runs from August 19th to 23rd (see gamescom-cologne.com).

We are also hearing reports of PS3 stock running very low or being cleared at stores ready for a new PS3, although it’s not confirmed what kind of new PS3.

Some users in the Playstation community claim that the rumored PS3 Slim with arrive in Europe on September 1st and in the United States the week after. Leave a comment below letting us know what you think of this latest image.

    that’s so obviously fake, nothing afficial about that at all, although i dont doubt there being a new ps3 around that time, that sign could have been made by a four year old, all blurry and stuff.

    no it’s not fake I took the pic, idk if the flyer was a joke by an employe, but what you see is what was at the store

    It is not a fake — just confirmed at Gamescon 2009 in Cologne, Germany. Confirmed by K-Mart and FYE as well. It will be priced to match the XBox 360. Enjoy!
