Google release social ‘Updates’ to take on Facebook and Twitter

Google has just released a series of social updates to it’s iGoogle home page, which will allow users to share their activities with other friends. The two main features are titled ‘Friends Group’ and ‘Updates’, which the company are hoping will rival the likes of Facebook and Twitter in the social department.

As reported from VentureBeat, these two features are just the start of things to come, with Google expecting to roll out even more social features to it’s iGoogle home page.

Both are available now and more details can be seen over on the Google website here. From challenging your friends to a game of Chess or Scrabble, or even sharing content with each other from YouTube, Google is trying to customize iGoogle to suit users needs as possible.
