Zune HD Rumor: Price and release date

You have to love it when big companies like Microsoft try to keep its price and release date of new products secret, only for some fool to leak it on the Internet. This is just what Best Buy has done with the imminent launch of the Zune HD.

Electronista have reported that the release date for Microsoft’s Zune HD is September 8 and prices will start at $220 for a 16GB model and $290 for the 32GB version. The former is $10 less than the entry price for the Apple iPod Touch.

Sales have started to drop on Microsoft’s Zune players since the announcement of the new Zune HD player, so it seems a logical choice for Microsoft to move the release date forward as well as offer more competitive pricing.

The Zune HD (Hands-on review) is less expensive than its rivals and still manages to have some unique features, such as its OLED display. Microsoft has yet to confirm these latest round of rumors, but we sure, they will within the coming days.
