CourseSmart is a new app for the Apple iPod Touch and iPhone and offers e-textbooks for students while on the move, this is according to a recent article in The Wall Street Journal. The app allows the student to gain access to free eTextbooks on their iPhone or iPod Touch.
The platform will interface with the student’s free CourseSmart account; they will then be able to gain access to at least 7,000 textbooks directly on to their iPhone or iPod Touch. If the student is subscribed to CourseSmart LLC, then this new app is free.
Mac Rumors understands that students are not about to do their homework on their iPhone or iPod Touch, but they will be able to provide “real mobile learning.” Students who download the app will be able to download full electronic textbooks as well as read their own digital notes, they can even search for certain word or phrases with the application.

Course Smart is a horrible service. Do not waste your money on this product. Page load times are very slow, text is not clear (fuzzy) and it is an inconvenient way to read a text book in the first place as learning inherently involves flipping back and forth through pages quickly to compare graphs, tables and ideas.
Furthermore, on the evening/night before a test, the entire website was down all night preventing me from studying! Tech support was of no use and they had no estimates on when the site would be back up. Do NOT purchase this service!
