Sling Media is preparing to update its iPhone app, SlingPlayer Mobile 1.1 is still waiting to gain the approval from Apple. The updated software comes with a number of enhancements, bit still lacks 3G streaming, which certainly seems a bit of a shame.
According to jkOnTheRun, there are however, a few cool new features to make up for its shortcomings; these include DISH Remote Access integration along with a number of improvements to its control interface. The new DISH function on SlingPlayer Mobile 1.1 allows you to gain access to the content guide directly to your iPhone.
Sling Media have given this update faster speeds when establishing connections, as well as when you change your channel and when using the functions on the remote control. Once Apple approves SlingPlayer Mobile 1.1, users will then be able to enjoy watching content with a 16 x 9 aspect ratio.
If you are an existing customer then Sling Mobile, 1.1 will be free, if you are a new customer, then expect to pay $30 for the app.
