Office Web Apps: Opera and Chrome not officially supported
By: Jamie Pert | August 11, 2009 | Leave a CommentIt has recently been announced that Microsoft have not included Opera and Google Chrome web browser in the list of officially supported browsers for its Web-based Office applications, these web based applications should be available to preview later this month.
The officially supported web browsers for Windows, Mac and Linux PC’s are Microsoft Internet Explorer 7, Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 and Mozilla Firefox 3.5, also Safari 4 for Mac is officially supported.
Just because the Opera and Chrome browsers are not officially supported it does not definitely mean that the web-based Office Apps will not work with them, I guess time will tell. I get the impression that Opera may not be officially supported due to the antitrust suit they were instrumental in bringing up against Microsoft.
