Microsoft’s New Retail Store Logo
By: Peter Chubb | August 11, 2009 | Leave a CommentMicrosoft designers have been hard at work coming up with a new logo for its forthcoming retail stores; the company has made this move in the hope of taking the fight to Apple and its success with retail stores around the world. The new logo has now been filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
According to PC World, the filing says that the new Microsoft logo consists of four squares that have been arranged in a rectangular grid. You can clearly see that each square is colored and forms three square-shaped regions within a main square. Each of these regions change color from dark to light leading to the center of the logo.
The top left square is red, the top right is green, the bottom left is blue and the bottom right is yellow. There are blank spaces to separate each square. Microsoft hopes that by launching a range of retail stores, they will be able to “transform the PC and Microsoft buying experience.” It is also hoped that Microsoft will now be able to engage with its customers on a more personal level.
