Nokia N97: Hacked for effects
By: Jamie Pert | August 10, 2009 | 1 CommentIf your already bored of your Nokia N97’s Symbian interface you may be glad to here that some someone named Vaibhav Sharma has created a tutorial showing you how you can add a transition effect to the handset. To see the full tutorial head over to The Symbian Blog. To see the transition effect in action, watch the video at the end of this post.
Many people believe that transitions are a waste of time, mainly due to the fact that whilst they look good they actually make simple processes take slightly longer. The ‘hack’ can be completed in under 5 minutes and all required files and information can be found on The Symbian Blog.
The video looks pretty impressive to be honest, the transitions seem pretty smooth, and do not have any noticeable delay. Personally I prefer the slide transition to the zoom transitions. For those of you not impressed by the transitions you will have to wait for the release of Symbian 4 for a fresher looking interface.
